Due to the uncertainty of international Internet connection speed, sometimes you need to switch to a faster mirror hosted near you to get a decent download speed. However, apply settings to different applications is not easy since they often require different setting procedures. This tool provides a universal interface to help you to apply settings to different applications. Setting mirrors was never such a charm. ![Setting mirror for pypi](README_pics/process.gif) And it's not just about speed. Instead, we consider stability seriously. The dashboard view gives you the server status. A warning is present if some mirror server is relatively slow or down. ![Dashboard](README_pics/brief.png) ## Usage To show current mirror status for each supported application, run: ``` $ rapid-mirror ``` To automatically set the fastest mirror for a specific application based on latency, run: ``` $ rapid-mirror -s ``` To manually set the fastest mirror for a specific application based on latency, firstly, you may need to test latency and availability of each mirror sites. Then, select the desired mirror site. ``` # test latency $ rapid-mirror -t # select mirror $ rapid-mirror -s ```
